I've watched recovery happen for more than twenty years. It's real, it's possible, and it happens in safe places. So we built one — and the door is almost open.

Why Sunbright

What makes us different

We're building what Northern California has been missing.

01

Welcomed as you are

From your very first call, you're met with warmth and dignity. Faith-integrated support is available for those who want it — never required, never pushed. Everyone belongs here.

02

Evidence-based and holistic

CBT, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and family systems work — proven therapies combined with whole-person care for mind, body, and spirit.

03

You won't walk alone

Family involvement, community connection, and lifelong aftercare. Recovery doesn't end when treatment does — and neither do we.

Services Offered

What Sunbright offers

Shaped by 20+ years of experience in addiction treatment — built around what actually works.

Primary

Residential Recovery

We offer 30, 60, and 90-day inpatient programs — round-the-clock care in a safe, structured setting where healing can take root. Each day blends individual counseling, group therapy, and life-skills training with time to rest, reflect, and reconnect. Residents live on-site in our 16-bed center with freshly prepared meals, a supportive peer community, and family involvement woven throughout — evidence-based treatment delivered with the warmth of a close-knit community.

Medical detox referrals are coordinated through partner facilities.

Community Partner

Dual Diagnosis & Mental Health

Healing rarely follows a single path. If substance use and mental health challenges are both part of your story — anxiety, depression, trauma — both deserve real attention. Through our partnership with Parish Health and Wellness, every resident receives a mental health assessment and ongoing telehealth therapy that begins here and stays with them through every stage of recovery.

Step-Down Support

Aftercare Planning

Recovery doesn't end when treatment ends. When you're ready to transition out of residential care, we connect you with trusted IOP programs and sober living options in the community — so you don't walk out the door without a plan and a support network already in place.

Community Referral

Sober Living

Stable housing isn't just a practical need — it's the foundation everything else is built on. Through relationships with vetted sober living homes — including Stability Solutions in Tehama & Shasta County — Sunbright helps individuals leaving residential care land somewhere safe, structured, and surrounded by people who understand the road ahead.

We're working through the final licensing and funding steps. The building is fully constructed — what remains is state licensing, furnishing, and staffing. Every donation moves that timeline forward. We'll announce an opening date as soon as it's confirmed.
Yes — and your gift is needed now. We're actively fundraising to furnish every room, equip the kitchen, and cover pre-opening operational costs. Giving now means you're part of why this center opens.
Every dollar goes directly toward equipping the center — furnishing bedrooms, outfitting the kitchen, stocking hygiene supplies, and covering the pre-opening costs that get us to day one. Sunbright is community-founded and community-funded. Your gift is what opens these doors.
Our 16-bed co-ed building is fully constructed at 22425 Sunbright Ave in Red Bluff, CA. The structure is complete — we're currently furnishing each room and preparing for our operating license. You can see photos of the building above.
Sunbright was founded by Linda Spyres, LCSW, LAADC-CA, who has more than 20 years of experience working in addiction treatment in Northern California. Her vision is a community-rooted, nonprofit recovery center that treats every person with dignity.
Sunbright is faith-integrated, not faith-required. Spiritual support is available for those who want it — but recovery here doesn't require any particular religious belief. Everyone is welcome, exactly as they are.
